The firm was founded in 1997.  Both Brian Stutheit and Patrick Gartland had previously been partners in a large Denver law firm which primarily worked defending lawsuits  for insurance companies.

Attorney Brian Stutheit has been practicing for about thirty years.  He is admitted to practice in all Colorado Courts, the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado and the Northern District of Texas, and the 10th U.S.  Circuit Court of Appeals.  Mr. Stutheit is a member of the Colorado Bar Association, the Jefferson County Bar Association, the Rocky Mountain Property Claims Association, and the Faculty of Federal Advocates.  He is a active in  the Elder Law and Construction Law Sections of the Colorado Bar Association.  He graduated from Littleton High School and from the University of Texas College of Law.  He wrote chapters in a book by West Publishing about Colorado court rules.

Mr. Stutheit is an AV® Preeminent Peer Review Rated* (highest rating) attorney.  Based on client recommendations, he was placed in Best’s Directories Of Recommended Insurance Attorneys.  Two magazines have named him as one of Colorado’s top construction attorneys.

Patrick Gartland put his law and engineering degrees to use and ran such a successful telecommunications related manufacturing business that he was able to retire from practice with the firm.  In respect for his help, his name remains with the firm.  Most days he can be found fishing in Montana.
